So thankful for our very first volunteers in 2021 and even more grateful that many continue to help today!
It’s wild to see how far we’ve come with recipes, amounts of food prepared, and to see volunteers just walk in knowing what we’re doing.

Some more volunteer appreciation! It has been a joy having this incredible group of friends volunteer together for almost 2 years now and what’s great is that they use this time as a way to do good while also catching up with each other. They’ve even brought their college-aged sons numerous times!
Katherine, thank you so much for choosing our nonprofit to support and for inviting your son Warner and your friends Stella, Heth (Stella’s son), Linda, Will (Linda’s son), Renee, Chandler, Carter, Audra, Sarah, and Maria. It always a delight having you all in the kitchen.

We appreciate our volunteers every day but would love to shine a light on them in April, Volunteer Appreciation Month. This is Liza Matz and she’s volunteered MANY hours since the Fall of 2021 with us. She’s really an amazing person who has supported us in many ways while also being an incredible Mom, wife, and entrepreneur.
She launched @ilubmarmar, a delicious chili garlic crunch, with some proceeds benefiting nonprofits like SevaTruckRVA. Her family joins her efforts spreading the tasty goodness around RVA and beyond. You MUST give it a try!

What a fun afternoon in the kitchen with these wonderful nurses from The Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners! They sliced, peeled, scrubbed and shred a BUNCH of veggies that will be used to make future healthy meals.
It was a great few hours for some to reconnect and others to meet for the first time. The time flew by and fun was had .
If you have a group you’d like to volunteer with just let us know. With notice we’ll make sure there’s enough for everyone to do. And everyone has to be 18 or older.

Meet these savvy VCU advertising students, Alessia, Hayley, Abbey, and their professor Scott! They have selected SevaTruckRVA as the nonprofit they will focus on for CreateAthon 2024. They will use their expertise while gaining real world experience to help us with marketing challenges, Ideas and creativity.
It was such a delight meeting them tonight and discussing our mission. They had terrific questions and are so eager to get started. I can’t wait to see their progress.

SevaTruckRVA is 3! On this day in 2021, we officially incorporated as a nonprofit and began setting our mission in motion to serve free and healthy meals to those in need.
We are incredibly grateful for all of the support YOU have shown us with your time volunteering, hard work growing delicious produce, financial contributions, following along, and spreading the word. Because of YOU, 22,744 meals have been provided since our first meal served on July 16th, 2021! A lot of time, thought and healthy (mostly local) ingredients go into what we serve. It truly takes a village and ours is full of do-gooders that we are very grateful for.

‘Truck’ is in our name which I know is a bit confusing since we no longer have a truck. Our original model in January’21 changed once we decided on renting space @hatch.richmond, a shared kitchen, which has made our operations much more streamlined and efficient.
Using Hatch allows us to have groups of volunteers to help prep the donated produce we receive from the community that we turn into healthy and free meals. The meals are often picked up by our partners who then give the meals to those in need.
This pic is of Todd who volunteers with @blessingwarriorsrva who picked up meals today to hand out to the homeless in RVA. Thank you Todd, Brent, Kevin, Rhonda who tirelessly provide resources to the homeless!
Also, THANK YOU to all of our volunteers that have helped us since August of 2021 and to all our Hatch friends that have helped us in so many ways with your chef skills, connections to who we can provide meals, and for just making working in the kitchen pleasant.
